This is the M65 fishtail parka as used by U.S forces as part of their cold-weather clothing system from the sixties through to the late eighties until they switched to gortex outers.

     A 3-part garment comprising of a tough, windproof outer parka, a quilted detachable liner and a detachable hood. The outer parka is zip closing but with large cold weather buttons and loops to secure the front storm flap The parka has a loose look but can be adjusted to give a more fitted look by means of drawcords at the waist and the hood size can also be adjusted.

These sizes are VERY generous and you would usually go down a size from normal.
