This was the standard issue medical
kit to
US Forces or IFAK, Individual
first aid kit, before the later
ACU kit was issued. It comprises of a small plastic kitbox in a pouch with two ALICE clips that can then be attached to a belt. Size is approx. 5ins wide x 5.5 ins. x 2ins depth. Its usual contents are, but can vary dependent on deployment: iodine solution, anti-chap stick, 2 of
camouflage field dressing 4x7 inches,
camouflage gauze bandage 2inches x 6yds.,
camouflage compressed muslin bandage 37 x 37 x 52ins., adhesive bandage 3/4 x 3ins., 2 of safety bottles(u.v. resistant), eye dressing, water purification tablet. Depending on the deployment, the list can vary but the field dressings and bandages are always supplied.
